Carlisle Question
And I have bitched to Chip and Bill dozens of times
that they should STOP having reserved parking for ANY
Group of Corvettes... maybe I'll start in on Lance this year...
AT least after 11 AM or is it 10 AM...everythign opens up and you can park anywhere...
To be honest..I live 70 miles from Carlisle and half the fun is driving up and back every day.... BUT damn whenI get there BEFORE the sun comes up and can not park anywhere close to where I want to park on level ground its poor...
I started doing the Fun Display just for the better parking the 1st few years it was great THEN here come the Registries (all of them), The Corvette Calvery, and up went the no parking signs...
I gave up...and now always drive my Mid Year and park with them ..BUT still spaces are limited and I
learned to be on the grounds by 9 on Friday and at least by 7 am on Saturday...
I also belong to the C3 Registry, The Corvette Calvery the black sheep squadron..all to get better parking..
Sorry for the rant... BUT who needs 100 35th anniv cars parked next to 100 40th anniv cars right next to each other...damn 100 white cars parked next to 100
ruby cars... I skip walking those areas...
The Grand Sports I walk...but only because I am usually in search of a free beer..and 3 of our club menbers have Grand Sports and all have plenty of beer...
OFF MY soap box... BTW...I understand they are NOT expanding the list of "registries"..THANK THE GOOD LORD...

I understand your reasoning, but I've got to stand my ground and back my father's positioning on the entire fun field thing... He made the decision of partitioning the fun field years ago (as you know). If he (or I) would be able to do it all over again I assure you we wouldn't go that route. Nevertheless as I stated above I stand by his word and I've grand-fathered the field layout the way it was. However I have made some changes this year that I feel will make a lot of fun field participants very happy.
Starting this year NCCC judged showfield (which was in the middle of the field for a long time) and the NCRS Gallery will now be relocated towards Gate 1 area - it'll be GREAT for them and GREAT for the fun field participants that want to park closer to the middle of the field. This will open up over 300 spaces on our fun field this year right inside of Gate 3. If you would like to see the map of the showfield – click here. Again, I feel this change is a definite WIN-WIN for everyone.
I'm always listening to people’s suggestions and criticisms – it typically helps me see a perspective I may not be aware of. So by all means if you have suggestions, please feel free emailing me or simply give me a call at the fairgrounds 717.243.7855 x115. I'm all about making Corvettes at Carlisle the very best it can be!
Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to share my view with you.
Sincerely,
Lance
PS Thanks for all of your support!

I also understand your reasoning...and the fact that you Grandfathered the exsisting "clubs". It really is not a problem.

Thank you for standing behind my decision on this one. Again, the NCRS Gallery and NCCC judged showfield will help open up the middle of the fun field, I feel this will be a wonderful addition this year to our event. I guess only time will tell
Thank you for your support, I look forward to seeing you at the event!
Sincerely,
Lance

I tried e-mailing you at the address you gave but kept coming back...maybe it's the system here that's the problem...anyway..I'll try this source.
I've pre-registered for my very first year with my very first vette. I received a card in the mail to verify, but I remember the card saying I would get tickets about a month before the event....which is well beyond that now.. Did I understand that message correctly? I'm getting a little concerned...Please reply...thank you.

Today we sent out entry stickers for each of the fun field pre-registrants. There will be detailed instructions in this packet as well, just read the info and you'll be all set!
We're looking forward to having you to our event. I'd love to hear your impression of the show after you attend! It's always fun hearing what newbie’s have to say about it
See you soon,
