Let me start by saying this was not street racing which I don't condone.
I was cruising up to Annapolis last evening when I passed a Countach with a temp tag on the back. I slowed to get a good look and we acknowledged each other. I think he was checking out my car as much as I was checking his out. Continuing on I pulled ahead about 200 yards and then noticed him coming on hard and he passed me at a very good clip before he slowed back down. I gave him a big thumbs up as he passed. I was just cruising and came back up next to him. I looked over at him and we just grinned at each other and I dropped it back into 3rd an hammered it to let him hear a good old American V8. Looking in my rear view I see him waving and returning the thumbs up. I slowed back down and he pulled up next to me again and we exchanged salutes.
I quess my wife summed it up best - "Boys and their toys"
naptown is great for a cruise, i love seeing the high dollar toys down there, on a nice day its rare not to see a ferrari down there or a lambo or a bently. ive seen a few awesome classics down there too I had a similar experence with a Bently GT on the parkway in NJ. great story
that's cool. I had the same experience on the interstate about a year ago, In Alabama!!!?? (don't see many of those, haven't ever seen any besides this one matter of fact), red countach coming up in the fast lane, he passed me like a freight train (I wasn't speeding tho), and I caught back up to him to give him a thumbs up. I was in my modded 3000GT VR4 though, not the vette.
I know a guy in the local (Annapolis area) Italian Exotics club and he's got a great looking Testarossa. When my son and I saw his car at the Annapolis Corvettes Show at the USNA/USMC stadium last year he couldn't have been nicer. Even invited us out to a show the next day where there were tons of exotics. Car lovers are car lovers - period!
