You should post this on the C6 Z06 forum, because they are the cars with this problem. Having said that, these "carbon pads" are part of the polution control system , and therefore you can't legally remove or modify them...............SO, don't tell anyone that you removed them.
Also, cap both ends of the hose that travels from the outlet from the oil reservoir and goes to the intake in front of the TB. Take the other hose from the reservoir and route it as usual to the top of the intake manifolds. There should be two, which is part of the balance pipe there.
During hard cornering, oil spills out of the reservoir and into the intake. Great. Then it gums up the MAF sensor, and acts as a solvent to dislodge the carbon things which get stuck in the TB if you are lucky.
Besides, this rerouting will draw more vacuum across the top of the oil reservoir, which is a good practice, albeit old school. Of course, you are not cleaning the lower air in the engine, but it will get there eventually, if you are concerned about that.
I noticed an increase throttle response, and, due to the increase vacuum, less valve train chatter at low RPMs. After having this for 3,000 miles now, no problems. I showed this to the GM service mechanics. They thought it was a pretty good idea. I doubt you'll have warranty violations with this mod. IT's simple, and will help you avoid alot of trouble in the future.
There are some other things to do, but that's all you asked about, so that's all for now. Just look around, give it careful consideration and thought and see how you want to apply your theories.
