Default Bolt Size?

I have read a lot of posts about "longer bolts" to lower a vette. How long do the longer bolts need to be?

I plan on lowering this weekend. From what I read, here's what I got:

Option 1: Back out stock bolts only. Good for about 5/8" drop.

Option 2: For lower than Option 1, cut 2/3" from front bushing. Buy longer bolts for the rear.

Does a 6" 9/16" Grade 8 bolt sound right? I assume you use all other existing hardware with these bolts?

I'm sure I'm complicating a simple process, but I hope someone will help. I just can't seem to find my answer with the search.

Max from rr bolts about 1". same with frt. Cutting 2/3 off frt bushings will give over 2". Iwould not go lower. 9/16 Grade 8 x 6-1/2 to 8" will work fine and give all the lowering the car can take.
Mine is about 2" and lower scrapes on gum wrappers!!

Maybe 1/3" out of the front and 6-1/2" bolts in the back would be a good setup... Could I get the right rake from that?

Will work fine. Remember if you cut 2/3 off front bushings one can always adjust the height up at least 1".
