Default Telescoping wheel?

Is the telescoping wheel an option on Z06s? PArticularly 2002s. Is it standard? I sat in my boss' tonight and forgot to look for it. It fit OK, but the wheel was _very_ close to my legs.

Hi Kale -

The tele column was never offered in the Z06.

Best regards -

True, it was never offered. I've oft wondered how much it would cost (if even an option) to have the telescoping function added to my Z.

It's got the tilt though. I run my steering wheel tilted up a fair amount in order for my hands to my clear my legs when I make a turn. Can't read the DIC but the gauges are perfectly observable. Check that out and see what you think.

I can't... put a spacer in can I?

I'm 6'7... so its a really tight car, but I dont want to let that deter me from getting one

I built new seat rails in my 86 to fit better in it.

Multiple Z06 owner Andi Bartichi had the telescopic system from the C5 coupe/convertible retrofitted to his 2004 Z06. You could probably PM him for the price. He posts pretty regularly on the C6 Z06 forum nowadays.

best of both worlds then. The b pillar in the coupe hits my head, but the Z's steering wheel hits my knees!

especially bad since I don't know how to drive stick.

So buy a column from Gene or from Brad...... and have it installed _without_ the memory. Just have them tap into some +12V all the time power source (that's what they did with mine). Easy.

The shop that did mine (21st Century) hadn't done one of these before and I paid a lot in labor for them to figure it out. Hopefully your bill won't be as painful. Good luck.

Thanks for the info Andi! The steering wheel is my biggest z06 0bstacle

other obstacle is finding an EB or MY '02 around Sacramento for a reasonable price.

As others have said it wasn't on the C5 Z06's but I have it on my C6 Z06 and is also a part of the memory package. It is handy to get in the most convenient driving position.
