Z51 question
yes i searched !! (for awhile)
were all 2002 6spd verts Z51 cars?
i recently found out all 6spd's were GU6 cars!
learning as I go....
and hey,, besides a "handling package" what exactly was the Z51 for an '02....i'm guessing stiffer suspension anything else ???
over my new toy

Not all verts came with the z51 package. It was an option that came with stiffer springs, shocks, larger sway bars front and rear, and a power steering cooler. Auto cars equipped with z51 also got the 3.15 axle.

I've got a Z51. The option is for track and autox. It has stiffer shocks, stiffer torsion bars and the power steering cooler. The ride is noticably stiffer but not harsh. Still much better than the C4. The Z51 option on the C6s includes driller rotors and a stickier tire. The new Z51 package costs about a grand more.

I have z51 on a 2k coupe... there is a power steering cooler, definetly.
As far as only being for track, I daily driver it... Its my first vette so im not sure how much stiffer it is, but I know driving over bad roads the car sounds hollow and echos a bit.

only ABOUT 117 black verts were 'allowed' in that year!
not that it really matters but 'nice to know stuff' .
