This kit will allow you to disable the Computer Aided Gear Selection (CAGS) feature of your C5 Corvette's 6-speed gearbox. This kit uses genuine Delphi Packard Electric Systems division connectors, plugs and seals to protect your wiring harness and CAGS solenoid to allow you to re-connect the harness for full CAGS function, if you so desire. This kit is designed for use on both the standard MN6 Corvette's 6-speed gearbox and also the M12 Z06 Corvette's 6-speed gearbox. No permanent modifications are required to install this product.
Each Kit comes with complete installtion instructions.
NOTE: This kit will prevent the CAGS solenoid from engaging but the "1 to 4" light on the dash will still illuminate when skip shift conditions are met.
thats a very good price but if you tune your car, then you can take it out regardless...
none the less, excellent product, i dont know what was going through the mind of the gm people but what an idiotic mechanism for "saving gas"
^^^I don't know if they used that for their calculations of gas mileage but I'd assume it helps bypass the gas guzzler tax. Got it on my b-day list for sure as I can't affor a tune and I can no longer afford the computer to help me shift into fourth when round a corner that I really need to be in second for.
When I bought my Vete, I got a print out from GM showing all the maintenance that had been performed through warranty.
One of them was the owner complaining of not being able to get the Vette into second gear. the Mechs couldn't find a prob.
First mod I did. Although I did it with a few resistors I found in the avionics shop and some shrink wrap.
I bought one through another vendor (quite a large vendor) and after installation it threw codes. SES light came on and never went away until I removed CAGS Bypass and cleared codes. Does your's work differently or would I still get a code?
