Default performance hood seal

Say i wanted to buy a "performance hood seal" from Lowes or Home depot. What type of weatherstripping should i buy and is there any thing special about the one from Ecklers or such?

Probably any type of rubber weather stripping with an adhesive backing would work fine. I ordered a hood side seal and cut it to length for mine though.

The vendor hood steal? Uh seal? Nothing special really except that it has two adjacent flat sides...fairly common structure for weather stripping you'd find at Lowe's or Home Depot. Also, the one seal you'd buy from the vendors is cut to length if that means you want an extra inch of gap on either end...hit the hardware store and you and a couple buddies will be good to go.

Is it called "bulb" type weather stripping.

Autozone has a roll in a bag, enough for 2 cars for about 12 bucks.

Check out this old post. I personally think the 3M product is a nicer looking product but it does cost a few pennies more

ill try that. i had some weatherstripping left over from flushmounting my tail lights but dont think its the right sort. i just cant stand dirt in the engine bay and maybe this will make it better (and if not at least itll give me something to do).

I used heavy duty flat weatherseal for RVs. Got it from Autozone for $12 and it works just fine.
