I have a 99 a4 with dual zone A/C. The problem is that when I used to change the air from fresh air to recalculated air the A/C would get colder and blow stronger. Now when I change settings there is no change in air temp or flow. It seems that the A/C is stuck on fresh air. Living in Arizona this is a big problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Chances are it is the air inlet valve actuator. It is basically a trap door with a motor on it that allows you to change inlet of air from outside to recirc etc.
I figured out how to solve the problem… at least for a year. Ill going to go to Canada for 2 weeks and hopefully it will cool off some before I get back! I know it’s not the most effective method but I think it will work. Thanks for the help guys. I will have the Freon checked when I get back and if that’s not it ill be pulling the car apart.
