Default Someone Help Please!!!!!!!

Mods i apologize for posting here but i need some help and I need it quick, i know this is a high traffic area so please bear with me....

Wife has a 2002 Sonata...she calls me this morning and tells me that her battery light came on, no biggie...after a couple of seconds it goes off, then the airbag light comes on, then off, then they both come on and after a few seconds they go off...i ask her if the car is driving ok and she says yea, i tell her not to worry about it as long as the car is driving ok.

She calls me after she gets off work and says the lights come on again, now the signal lights don't come on..the hazard lights quit working...all of a sudden Blam...the car jerks...scares the crap out of her...( im on the phone with her at the time.) All of a sudden, again it jerks, then one more time than dies...I haul butt over to get her...long story short (sorry, too late) i tow the car to my mom's house, we take a look at it and everything seems ok...but lights don't turn on, car won't turn over. I remember her saying that she needed to get gas...so i think HMMMM MAYBE SHE FRIGGIN RAN OUT OF GAS!!! Put some gas in it and jumped the car (because of the lights not coming on) and the friggin car started...before it wouldn't do ANYTHING, now its up and running...my question is...would i be ok to drive it home like that? As long as it is running i think i would be ok...am i wrong? I need to know because i don't want it dieing on me in the middle of the highway...please help.

I plan on changing the alternator as i think that is the culprit...but won't be able to get to it till tomorrow...PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK I CAN DRIVE IT HOME LIKE THAT!

That combo of lights in many vehicles in that order is telling you the alternator is dead. You won't get far after that combo of lights. Soon the dash will light up (dim) like a christmas tree and it'll die. I would not suggest trying to drive it once it is dark, you'll have no lights. I see you're from Ft Worth though, so maybe you have enough time. Since this thread may get locked, feel free to PM me for further advice on how to drive a vehicle with no alternator and make it last a little.

To answer your question...running or not...it'll die...no battery to power the fuel pump. Do not drive it if you're running major highways.
