I swear it sound like birds chirping or something under my car when im driving. It is like a faint squeeking sound and it's driving me crazy/ I know, turn up the radio or get a louder exhaust but I want to know if something is wrong or not. I really can't describe it any better than a squeeking sound. My car is a m6 03. I know the manuals are just more clunky sounding than the autos but what could this be ??? Anyone have a similiar situation ?
a lot of chirping sounds come from the belts - either the belts themselves of the idler pulleys. I had a similar sound - it was more of a metallic chirp than a rubber one, but after changing the belts it seems to be gone.

As mentioned, it could be the belts. That is the 1st place I would check. It could also be a suspension bushing. Unfortunately there are hundreds of possibilities. Good Luck
Well I just had my cousin who is a mechanic for Chevy and works on nothing but vettes. It was the belts so he is just gonna swap em out for me and do an all around check on the car to see what it may need since it still has warranty on it!! I love that kid
new belt on ours; it still chirps when cold. once it warms up, no noise at all. even my mechanic said "good luck trying to get the cause of that noise". bub
A lot of the belt problems are caused by wobble in the dampner (harmonic balancer). I got in my Vette too, after changing the belts and checking all of the idler pulleys, I isolated it the dampner.
It's a common problem. When I yank the motor for a forge unit I'll get it fixed until then I'll just live with it.
