I've noticed that some forum members have been around for 5-6 years. Broadband was in it's infancy so most had slow dial up, seeing pics took minutes, and there was no smilies How did you deal without?
i am still trying to find that wheel we talked about
i have tues and wednesday off next soo i will run up to the local chevy only wrecking yard and see what i might find
Back in the day? I'm on dialup now and always have been. Where I live there is no cable, no dsl, no nothing and I'm not interested in satellite. I still review the posts pretty much every day, but it takes awhile. How people size their pics makes a big difference but it is what it is. Its also helpful that so many people note in the title whether its huge picture load. No one has taken a poll but I'm sure I'm not alone.

I guess if you are used to it , but if you ever try the broadband , you would run to get anything that works , including satellite . Not sure why you don't want satellite broadband .
Honestly , if i had dial up today as the only option , I would move !
That was one of the first calls I made before I bought my house a few years back , if broadband was available in the area .
we've had the broadband gig for maybe 8 years. back when we had dialpup, truthfully, we didn't know any better. i'll really date myself here: i believe our 1st internet experience was with something possibly called a 9400 baud modem (dialup of course) with *prodigy isp. slow as proverbial molasses in january but we were out there for the 1st time. now, many of us thing broadband could be much faster. call it progress. bub

I'm not the only caveman! This is what I do in between pages.>
Don't forget, back in the day, 56k was lightning fast When you heard the modem handshake go 56k you knew you were going to have an awesome night That, and it helped to keep your temp. folder really big
Hah! When I was in college our "timesharing" computers ran at 300 baud. We thought it was a giant leap when 1200 bps was invented! I'm on the waiting list for Verizon's FIOS service.

I would go with satellite.... Works great all the way here in Mosul, Iraq... (Of course it makes me sad to be away from my ride) You might check into Direcway.

Don't discount satellite, it's a hell of a lot better than dialup. I use Direcway, it works fine
