I used Royal Purple Syncromax in my FRC and it noticeably improved shifting.

I used Amsoil synthetic in mine. Subdiver is a vendor here. If you'll do a search you will find that most use either Mobil 1, Amsoil, or Royal Purple; and everyone has their own opinion. I've been pleased with Amsoil thusfar.

Manual
Transmission
DEXRON-III Automatic
Transmission Fluid - per the manual, but as Tact stated, this topic will bring out "favorites", those being AMSOIL, Royal Purple, Redline, etc.

Bounty named one I forgot, Redline. Although we chose Amsoil I'm sure others will perform just as well. I personally liked the stats on Amsoil a bit better.

Amsoil, universal ATF not because I sell it but because of the results!

AMSOIL...not just because of the results but also because i cant get fluids for the motor, trans, and diffy all at once and from one place!

When i place my order it took two minutes and i was done with it. I didnt have to worry about adding limited slip modifier to the diffy fluid or any of the common complications with other fluids...

Motor: Amsoil Synthetic 5w-30 (ASL)
Trans: Amsoil Synthetic ATF (ATF) the trans takes about 3.75 quarts
Diffy: Amsoil Synthetic 75w-90 Severe Gear Lube (SVG) the diffy take about 1.75 quarts

2 amsoil hand pumps (1 for diffy fluid, 1 for trans fluid) (G2039)

should be around 200 bucks and 2 hours of work total! Very easy to do the diffy and trans...
