Painted my hoodliner and airbridge recently. Used good old Testors. On the liner I started using paint pens but eventually went with brushes because they enabled me to lay the paint on thicker. It still took 4-5 coats for solid coverage (PIA). The airbridge was easier. You can scrape off overflow with an xacto knife but be careful or you will see the scratch marks on the black plastic.
Did you do the steering wheel emblem?
I tried a plastic sticker yesterday, and it was junk. The colors flaked off when I peeled off the plastic backing. So I was just going to search the forum for experience with testors on the steering wheel, and I saw your post. Nice work!!!

I've seen some pictures on the forum of painted ones and they looked real nice. I went with Cyberdyne and I'm happy with it. No problems with it or the airbag letters coming off. The 3-D affect of their products makes them look almost OEM.
Thanks for such a great idea on a cheap mod. I saw your post and ran out and picked up the Testers paint and brush for under $10.00. Here is a pic of the paint job, it matches my 2003 badges.[IMG][/IMG]
