Just purchased a 2003 coupe without the HUD option. Is it possible, resonable and/or advisable to install one? I really like the HUD but could not pass on this low milage Vette...

Mostly time. Not a lot of money. He'll be looking at about anywhere from $250 - $400 range, give or take. His IP is HUD-ready and all he needs is the projector, cable, hud switch and dashboard bezel.

Bought a complete kit off ebay for $460.00. This included a DVD on how to do it. If you take your time and follow the instruction, you will have no problems. I got a little up tight when I had to cut the dash pad, but everything worked out just fine. Again follow the DVD and Instruction. Also you do not need a HUD windshield.
Its one of the easiest non HP mods to do to your car, bought mine in a group purchase for I think it was 350 or so,took about 3 hrs to install, best non HP mod out there if you don't have it.
Can it be done on a 97 because it was not an option then? If it can, is it the same parts and pieces to install it as the newer C5's?
You can do it on the 97, but it will require a new instrument cluster, an extra $250?, Josh can hook you up with that too. he is a great guy to deal with, very helpful.

I also purchased a 2000 with 32k on the odometer and could not pass up for just $22.9. But i wanted the HUD too. Thanks everyone for letting us know it can be done. I am not mechanically inclined. Recommend taking to local Chevy dealer???

NO! I would ask around, see if there are any Forum members in your area that would give you a hand, I bet you could find one.
Ouch...we drive nice cars, but want to pirate so quickly. The kits on eBay are my kits. I had them here with a GP for a while, but after the GP, the volume didn't make up for the advertising fees, so I just sell them on eBay now.
The kits I have on eBay are complete with everything you'll need, including color directions (and a DVD with buy it now purchases).
I'm now back in school full time (nearly 10 years since I rec'd my bach. degree) in pursuit of a medical degree. These kits are one of the few sources of additional income that I receive to help support my family while I'm in school.
You can put together a HUD setup for less than my kits, but the savings would be minimal and you'd have potentially many more headaches.
