Just got my first Vette 2002 6spd. 2nd day of ownership got the dreaded "Column Lock". They got me for a new battery, the one in the car was new in March, but the dealer said it was undersized?? But thanks to this site I was able to get them to apply the last recall and now at least the wheel won't lock up. I asked the service writer at the dealer if he would run the VIN for me so I'd know the service history but he refused. Said he could not give me the info. Any way great car, great site, and if anyone could run the VIN I'll buy ya a beer here in sunny FLA. 1G1YY22G925124770

First off, congrats on getting a C5. Great car and hope it gives you lots of driving pleasure. I think I would be looking for a better service department though - can't understand why they would refuse to give you a service history.
Good morning and welcome to the Forum. If you can't find a more cooperative dealer, go on line to CarFax and look up the VIN number. (I was lucky. The place where I bought my car offers free CarFax lookups on their web site.) Despite the initial headaches, enjoy the heck out of your new baby. And don't forget to wave!
Congrats on the new addition to your family, and I see you have already found a dealer that doesn't want your business - there is no GM policy against giving a car owner the records of the service history - that is a dealer being less (much) than customer service oriented.
Someone here will pull the service history for ya...
As you will see, there are lots of Vettes on our roads here in Sunny SW Florida. I'm in FtMyers, and I see lots of 'em daily. Congratulations on your vette, and welcome to the family.

2 days after delivery the battery dies and they charge you for a new battery and on top of that they refuse to run a GM History
You should probably stay away from there in the future.
