I like it and im going togo even lower than stock bolts once i get my chrome c6 rims... And i dont have to worry about fat chics because i will bottom out. Looks like you already have your mind made up but i had Alot of wheel gap so that was my first mod the next day.
I started the thread as an innocent question as to the benefits to the every day driver. It is apparent that that are none. If you don't like the look, then lowering has no benefit to me. It does have negative impact, so I'll leave it as is. There's no reason for everyone to get so upset because some like it lower and some don't. I like scrambled eggs, some like fried. That doesn't mean one of us doesn't like eggs.
As for the geezer comment, I may be closing in on it, but I've had 8 Vettes now, beginning when I was 20 years old. I've had 4 mid years, a72, a 77, 98 and now an 03 AE. In fact, I sold Bowtyeguy the 65 convertible he has now. I have never felt the need to raise or lower any of them. I love the looks, the feel, the pure enjoyment of owning one. I stated that I don't drive fast and I don't. I did in 68 when I bought my first 65, but I didn't modify it. They are built well enough as is to do what I do. That doesn't make me a geezer, and lowering your car doesn't make you a punk. If you don't like the look of the space in my wheel well, look at the lines of the car and don't obsess.
I didn't mean to cause a bunch of angry responses and if I could delete the thread I would. We're all Corvette owners, to each his own.

My responses were made in jest - but, as you have seen - there are many people completely devoid of a sense of humour.
Additionally, since many people feel that the Internet is anonymous, they turn into keyboard commandos and get abusive in a way that they never would face to face.
Luckily, this Forum is very heavily moderated; the Corvette Forum Owner, the Administrators and the Moderators take a very dim view of personal attacks and deal with rule breakers directly.
Some Corvette owners love their car just the way it came off the production line, some like to make small cosmetic modifications and some crazies (like me) want to completely remake their car.
You are 100% correct - we are all Corvette lovers, so it's all good
They knew that most of you don't care enough about your cars to keep them pristine when they should be lowered, so they raised them up.
I have no problems with mine lowered, though I do try to avoid speed bumps when I can. On my daily drive, there's one way that saves 1/4 mile but has 10 speed bumps...so I skip it.
I put on rocker protectors and wheels for the front end and dare say that the bottom of my car looks better than 90% of the ones out there that aren't lowered.
Oh, incidentally, for a street car, it's all about looks. Nothing else.
Same reason you have chrome wheels and slotted/drilled rotors. Nothing to do with performance at all, just looks.
But as for the resale value thing, that's baloney. It took an hour to lower it, you can raise it in an hour but I don't think most dealers would know the difference anyway.
