Brake fluid for clutch
Question for Roger..I noticed a while back on changing out clutch fluid that the picture of the clutch resv. didn't have the black rubbber diaphram in it. When I checked mine it has the diaphram. My question is can you leave the diaphram out and to what level do you re fill it accounting for heat expantion..

Clutch fluid.
Ranger, thanks for the replly. I think you more than answered my question. I wasn't sure about the surge damper, but it will stay where it is .. Thanks again..

If nothing else, the diaphragm provides a seal to the lid and reduces the fluid contact with moisture.
You fill it up to the step on the inside of the reservoir, and I use the GM clutch fluid instead of regular brake fluid. The GM fluid is supposed to have additional additives to reduce friction.
