Default C5 Tire Inflator Question

I am thinking about getting an inflator to carry with me in the car. Is the OEM inflator that came with the C5 worth the extra money over after market 12V compressors?

I have thought of this also, as I am in the market for an 03-04 Z06 and would be surprised to receive the original tire inflation kit. They are quite pricey as I recall.

I have found this however...

I am not associated with TR or Continental, so this is not intended as an endorsement, just information.

The only one that came with the C5 was the one that came with the Z06. It retails for about $400. IMHO - go to Walmart and buy a plug and patch kit for around $10 and a Campbell-Hausfield 12v compressor for about $20 and you have almost everything that came with the Z06 kit for 10% of the cost. That's what I did....

That's exactly what I did too and it works just fine.
