Convertible hatch release button
Having problems with the release button required to tuck away the top. Sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't.
2001 yellow convertible.
Any suggestions.
Need help.

Also, if the trunk is open, the chime will sound as well. Since the toneau release button's wiring is exposed, make sure there's no damage to it.

Drove corvette to dealer this morning. Demonstrated that hatch would not release. Amazing, hatch released on every attempt. 
He said to bring back when there is a problem. 
I explained the problem was intermittant.

Hi Winston, When you say it doesn't work all the time, can you be more specific. When you press the button do you hear the latches release, or sometimes do you not hear anything? If you alwys hear the latches release them it may be a problem with the latches, if you do not always hear the latches release then it may be the button or a wiring problem.

Ignition and acc off. When there was a problem
tried several suggestions, none worked. Went to dealer, no problem existed during my demo of problem. He did smile when I mentioned the word intermittant
