Default digital climate control

Digital climate control does not work properly. Need to remove it from my 2000 vette to have it rebuilt. Need help in how to do this.

Run diagnostics (codes for HVAC) first.

Lots of links on procedure.

Lift up arm rest -
remove plastic covers in the rear of console
remove both nuts
pop out active handling button part by prying up from rear
remove both nuts under it
remove ashtray
remove screw behind ashtray (torx)
remove screw above lighter

carefully pop off the vent cover beside the ignition key(the tabs are on the sides)

remove torx screw behind that cover.

remove the shifter ****

remove the shifter boot

remove the console - slide back while slightly lifting the rear - then you have to manuever it out of the way.

the A/C controller is held on with 2 or 4 torx screws.

I don't think I missed anything other than undoing connectors which you will see as you remove the various components.

Hey, 2000Vette, does the unit simply not work, or is the display dim? If it's a dim display, there's a simple trick to fix it, as long as you have familiarity with soldering.

I'm not sure of the thread, but I'm sure somebody will post the link to it... meanwhile, try a search on HVAC Display. You might have some luck there.

Good luck!

You don't have to remove the ****. Unfasten the clips at the base of the shifter boot and you can pull the console up over the shifter assembly.
