Default 1998 Engine Change

Hello;

I like my 1998 Corvette so much that I want to keep it until it's done. What kind of Engine can I put in?, Any C5 Engine is ok?

Where can I get an engine for it? What price?

Thanks

Any C5 engine will fit. Fred Beans has the best prices on GM crate engines. Call for pricing.

When my '99 LS1 blows up I'm putting an LS6 in.

I can't wait!

If you have the know-how or the cash to have it done, the LS6 would be a good option. And Fred Beans would be a good choice to check on prices.

ditto with what the guys stated above.

To tell you hoenstly, if you dedicated yourself and a few good, knowledgeable Vette guys, you can do this swap by yourselves. i pulled my motor this past weekend, just me and a good friend who knew how to. we did it in 10hrs, with basic hand tools. its literally a lot of bolts that are str8 forward and electrical clips/plugs.

now the question is, what kinda of motor do you want. hi performance or simple stock replacement. now would be a time to consider a big cube motor for power! i dunno packages available, but many these days are very reasonably priced and ready to bolt in. i would go with a 402 or 408, should cost about 15K all said and done. will make 500+ rwhp easy! (assuming your a manual trans) my 427 thru and A4 tran with a 4000 stall makes about 520rwhp. but after this re-built, i should be making 550 rwhp.

Post up more details so people can give you a more in depth opinions
