I am 6'2" and 220. and I have NO problem with my 2004 Z06. You gotta have Yellow, They are the fastest or else the Corvette Racing Team would be another color. They didn't start out with Yellow C5R cars and didn't have much success, but since they changed to Yellow, they have been rarely beaten. Seroiusly, just get a Z06, you will not regret you did.
THANK YOU, for your service to America!
Daryl (cwmoss)
I LOVE THE YELLOY BUT I JUST THINK IT IS TO BRIGHT FOR ME AND THE RED IS NICE BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE EVERYWHERE NOT ZO6 BUT JUST C5 AUTOS BUT I LOVE THE BLUE ONE THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE YEAH IM 6'2" AND 240 SO I SHOULD BE GOOD THOUGH
Wisher - Thanks for your service in the "sandbox." Consider the following answers carefully as they're coming from a former squid. You are correct about the colors - red or yellow are too flashy for a DevilDog. Since GM doesn't spray olive drab or desert cammo on our cars, perhaps black would work best. If possible, try to buy your car used from an Air Force guy. The finish will be perfect and the miles will be low since the car will have been well cared for and stored under a cover. The AC compressor will have had heavy use though. Seriously, keep us informed on the forum and search here and at the "LS1 Technical" forum for commonly reported issues on these cars. There aren't many. Well, I've insulted enough of our services for now so - Hoo-ahh!!
On the 03 & 04 ZO6, the headliner sits low just behind your head. I'm 6'2" and own a 2001 ZO6 that the headliner sits up about 1.75 inches higher than my friends 04 ZO6. I don't have enough head room in the 04 ZO6. Not sure about the 02 ZO6 headliner, but the 01 can be installed into the newer ZO6's.

The 04 headliner is thicker why I don't know. Thanks for your service. Ask the owner if its on the original tires, if so check for wear against the mileage on the odometer. If not, ask at what mileage they were switched. I ran the stock F1's about 18K, 8-10 trips down the 1/4, couple of road courses. Anything less than 15k on the car, should still have original tires, unless tracked a lot, or street raced a lot, and in both cases a lot of burnouts. As far as colors go....black is beautiful, gray is gay, yellow is mellow, white is allright, blue is cool, but red will get you head.
THis is why i joined this forum and want to join the vette scene thanks for the help and to the so called squid i could not agree more abo the the other services just kidding guy well except for the air force and army jokes marines and navy all the way baby
6"2" here and I do not have any problems. We exchanged e-mails on my silver 02. You will like the Z. Keep a look out here and the other forum as well for a good deal. Good luck in your search. Take care, Don

Sorry to hear you got your tour extended. March isn't a bad time of year to look for deals. If you find anything online up here near Washington DC (from Baltimore down to Quantico) that you want looked at - say the word. I'll go give it the once over and take some pics to go along with my report. Some Marines once saved my a$$ and I haven't had a chance (yet) to start to pay that back.
Thanks for your service to this fine Country Wisher. Guy's like you make it possible for us to own automobiles like the Z06. I'm 6'1" and have no head room issues in my 2004 Z06. As far as color goes I think you ought to look for a Z16 Commemorative Edition. It looks very patriotic.

I'm a former Air Force guy, and I can tell you that the squid is probably correct about the condition of an Air Force Vette. Probably stored at base housing in a heated garage. Low miles due to the only trips made to the base golf course and officer's club. Waxed regularly to reduce any hint of additional drag.
Stay safe over there, and we all appriciate and honor your service as said.
I really apericate all the inf keep it coming all the help is welcomed and thanks for the willingness to look at z for me this is just the kinda stuff i i need over here cant wait to get back and cruise by the ocean
I am a little over 6'2", and one of my good friends makes me look like an elf. He has two c5's and takes long road trips in them without any whining or complaining.
I have absolutely no issues at all with the interior dimensions of a C5.

Sorry about your extension. Send me an e-mail in the spring. If I still have the car we can talk about it then. Keep your head down and come home safe. Don
I can vouch for the lower headliner in my 03. Im 6'2" and my head hits it all the time, and if I have a helmet on forget it as its a real PITA. I can do about 3 hours sitting at one time in it then it becomes really uncomfortable car to drive in. If I know im gonna do a long trip thats 3+ hours driving ill take my 4X4as I can sit in that thing all day long and be comfortable.

Try an 01 or 02 Headliner. Might make you more comfortable. Same height here and I can still wear a helmut in my car. It's an 02.
