Default Z06 vs. FRC

Could someone please tell me if there is a such a thing as a 2002 FRC? I know a man who just bought a Vette, he tells me its an 02. It is a hardtop. He also tells me its a Z06 but it has no Z06 markings on it anywhere. Any info would be appreciated.

The FRC model of the C5 was only produced in 1999-2000.
in 2001 the Zo6 was made, all hard tops after 2001, are all Zo6's

thus

if he has a 2002 HardTOp then he must have a Zo6.

Also its real easy to take off the side badges..

Through the years, I have heard many people call a targa coupe a "hardtop."

You can tell a Z06 from the VIN: Sixth digit is "1" for hardtop, "2" for coupe, and "3" for 'vert. Eighth digit is "G" for coupe/vert LS1, and "S" for Z06/LS6.

If it is in fact an '02 and has no removable roof or convertible top, the it is a Z06. Maybe he took the badges off - some poor unsuspecting soul would think it was a 345 HP car.
