Followed a Ferrari F430 Spider today
That is one awesome looking machine! We were behind him on a back country road following another car. When the car turned off (we were doing 20 or so in a 55) we both punched it, but I had to back off. I'll tell you though...that F430 Spider is very quick. I believe the 0-60 times are similar to the C6 Z06 -- 4.0 seconds. I just have an advantage with my high RWTQ which basically runs 520 ft/lb from 2000-4800 RPM's. I would really love to run against one at the track. The cool thing is that he was very friendly and waved...definitely not a Ferrari snob.

The Farrari is a cool car...
This morning, I followed a '58 Vette on the River Road between Alton and Grafton, IL. It was a great morning for a cruise in the Vette, but better yet, seeing that classic motoring along.
As a matter of fact there were a lot of cool cars out all day.

A F430 sighting is always a cool thing, especially when you can hang - or more
He's probably on 6speedonline telling those guys about a very quick Vette

The Wife and I were in the U.K. a few weeks ago and stopped by a Ferrari Dealer in Lyndhurst (near Stonehenge). Eye candy galore...unfortunately, no free test rides.

The F430 is a sweet car. I love the look and the respect it gets.
I love Ferraris, however, my old Ferrari was in the shop more then I drove it. I loved the car but I would have loved to drive it more. Apparently from other owners I wasn’t the only one, but to be fair to the Ferrari I did drive it pretty hard.
My friend has a Ferrari but he never drives it. Out of the last ten times he took it out he has had to put it in the shop twice. Once for an oil leak $$$$$ and the other was for the alarm malfunctioned. The car wouldn’t start without the alarm working correctly.
Long story short. It's nice to know my Vette can be repaired around the corner and they carry the parts I need at a more reasonable price.
I’m not knocking the Ferrari but I can truly say my Vette expense is well worth my ride and way more nicer on my wallet.

I was at Deals Gap(or the Dragon, as some people call it) today. It is an 11 mile stretch of freshly paved, mountain road that has 318 curves in it. I got to make a run with an original (not a kit) 1966 289 AC Cobra. I could keep up with him power wise, but not in the curves. Worn out run flats and 3000+ lbs won't keep up with 1800 lbs and Hoosier racing slicks.
It was fun though. I remember wondering what my insurance company would say if I had hit him in the rear end.

The Insuarnce Co. would have just said goodbye, the Cobra owner would have said goodbye too, but probably with some force....
