The age-old debate continues. I have a 2002 stock MN6 with just north of 25K miles on it and I'm in the "low milage" camp. Right now the DIC says 16.5, but that's because I did about 60 recent freeway miles. Generally, it's lower, but I can go two to three tanks without any significant freeway driving. And, when I do "city" miles it is really "city" - traffic, moving from one stop light to the next, etc. When I do all or mostly freeway, my average will move much higher - near 30.

I have been interested for some time in the apparent disparity between MPG reports on this forum. I have yet to see anyone post a reasonable explanation. I tend to think its how the car is driven and under what conditions.

Might be worth a try. Good luck!

Don't trust the DIC- do the math. With your rear gear you should be in 20s unless your really hammering it.JMHO

98, MN6 ~45k
I have always had 14-17, usually 15.9, DIC and math
100% city, local streets, 10 miles each way to work, light to light (well timed) , very little stop and go
go figure

Sounds a bit low. Take it to a shop and have them run diagnostics on the 0-2 sensors.

My average over the last 10K miles is 25.3 mpg... So yours sounds low
