Default Does This Seem Low ??

According to my DIC, my average MPG is 16 - 17.5 at best... this seems really low compared to other threads that I've read of people averaging in the 20's.

My car is a STOCK 2000 Auto with 2.73's !!...

My freeway / town driving ratio is about 50/50. I reset the average and made a point for the last 2 weeks to keep my foot out of the gas, but still only aveage about 17 MPG

Is this not normal?? Anyone else have this issue?

Does seem a bit low, however I do drive with a bit of spirit. So i constantly get 17.8mpg in town, and approx 22-24 on the freeway.

I always get above 18MPG around town and I get into the throttle all the time, coming back from Carlisle I was getting 33.4 at around 70MPH. Your not using regular are you?

Default Hmmm

Hmmmm.. what could be the cause? I bought the car about 3-4 months ago, had the oil and rear diff fluid changed, and always use Chevron Premium.

Everything has been in perfect working order since I bought it, and it currently has 29,xxx miles.

What causes low MPG ?

Have you checked your mileage the old fashioned way? Perhaps your computer is wrong.

Yes, it seems low, but many factors go into the MPG reading. How's the traffic been - if heavy, MPG will go down. Really windy - could affect mileage too. Tire pressure OK?
