does anyone know if it is possible to slightly raise the rear height of a c5 z06 by bolt adjustment. i read how a lot of guys loosen or tighten suspension bolts to lower car height.
Yes, you can use smaller bolts or (washers gheto style) to rais the rear end up a bit. the most you can get if I remember is about 3/4 of an inch w/o modifying anything. This is normally only done for drag slicks to keep em from hitting the fender. sometimes with stock bolts the nut is not all the way up so you can simply get under their and crank it tight. but usually the washer trick or replacing the bolts with a 3/4" shorter one will do. just remember your going to be stink bugged and could hit the front air dam more often.
You sure can, It takes an 18 mm and a 21 or 22mm wrench to do. You can do it without even removing the wheels. Just jack the rear end up and support it with some jackstands.
If you raise it (or lower it) you will change the alignment settings. Raising it will toe the rear out a bit, so you may want to have an alignment after the ride height is set.
Can You Tell Me Where These Bolts Are Located? Do You Tighten Them Or Loosen Them?
Thanks
Their in the back on each side of the car, their like a 17MM bolt head. Their the ones that are bolting your A-arm to the uni-spring. and to lift it simply tighten them up. (bring the spring closer to the a-arm) to lift. and vice versa to lower , hence the longer bolt design to lower the car and shorter bolt to lift it.
Almost forgot, don't forget to take before & after measurements to verify the heights, and count the turns as you tighten the bolts up. I found that the old (turn count) was very accurate and easier then counting the threads. Also it will need to be driven to settle the suspension.
Good luck and post a pick once your all done...
