Experience with LMPerformance.com
I recently purchased the Borla XR-1 exhaust system for my C5 from lmperformance.com. Got the package in yesterday ... noticed it only weighed about 10 pounds ... thought that couldn't be right, so I opened it and its only a Borla X-Pipe. The box says its the XR-1 system on the outside, but no resonator. So I called LMPerformance, they guy who answered sounded like he was half asleep, and said that the shipping weight was 50 lbs. Then he said he would have to contact the shipper on this and he would get back to me. I then asked him if he had my phone number, and he said yeah, its 303-555-1212 (my standard "fake" number). I say no, my number is 303-###-####, and he says, thats not whats on the form. Needless to say, that instilled a lot of confidence in me that this is going to be resolved. I paid via Paypal, via American Express, any ideas what kind of recourse I would have seeming he has a shipping order stating 50 lbs? Also, has anybody else had any experiences with lmperformance.com? Good, bad, anything ;-)

Well, not so great news. lmperformance is saying that the package weighed 50 lbs and that is what their distributor shipped. It only weighed about 20 lbs because of the missing parts ... lmperformance is now claiming that i am trying to rip them off and get free parts. Paypal would not refund my money, so i filed a dispute with american express. anybody and any ides what i can / should do?

Damn, that sucks big time. I would say your best leverage is with Amex. Stay on them and tell them that fraud it is definitely involved. Be "very firm" with them. Remind them that "you" are their customer and (as a last resort) if they don't back you, that you will "cancel" your/their card. Don't be afraid to ask for a "next level" review. (several levels if necessary) Let "them" put the pressure on Paypal or the vendor/distributer for resolution. If you use your card frequently you should have the clout to get results. I have had conversations with them reguarding several situations and all were resolved in my favor.
Just for info, you should have received the left and right 2 piece over axle pipes and clamps and the 1 piece resonator section for a total of 5 pieces.

Thanks for the info ... I sent one more email to lmperformance.com to try to resolve this ... if there is no resolution tomorrow, i am going to start posting my experience on any forum that will let me 
BTW ... i looked at the box from borla, the borla seal is broken and it has been restapled shut. I spoke to fedex, and they told me if the box had broken open during shipping, they only tape boxes back up, or use a new box, they do not restaple them. so somebody opened the box from when it left borla's shop and when it was dropped off at by the shipper.

Remember, it's Amex's job to protect you against fraud. Thats part and parcel of what you're paying them for.
