Techron advertises it fixes fuel gauges
Just picked up a bottle of Techron (for general maintenance) and was stuck in traffic, so I read the bottle. There is a whole paragraph about how it fixes and prevents fuel gauge malfunction from sulphur in gasolline. Don't know how long this has been on the bottle?
I have used it to fix my fuel gauge problems, it works! 98,000 miles on original fuel gauge/sender.

I've used one bottle of Techron in my car but didn't really notice that claim on the bottle. I just went off the recommendations here on the forum.

I only buy Chevron premium (if you can call 91 octane, premium... ), and the one or two times I had the probelm before Chevron have never repeated after Chevron. So I think their claim is valid.

I've never had to add a bottle of Techron, but when my gauge acted up, buying Chevron solved the problem, so I use nothing else now. However, I carry a bottle of Techron in case I can't find a Chevron station when I'm travelling.

I've used Chevron gas almost exclusively since I bought my C5. I also add Techron now and then. And I've had the fuel tank sensor replaced (the other sensor was replaced prior to me buying it).

2 large bottles in 1 tank fixed mine right up. Now I used the small bottle once a year and never had the fuel gauge problem since before use.

Gotta agree with those above. It solved my problem, had the guage acting weird and after 1 large bottle of Techron and a full tank of Chevron Premium, the guage has acted perfectly since.

I run Chevron Supreme and had my first gauge problem about two months ago (12,000 miles). A bottle of Techron seemed to do the trick.
Two weeks ago I remembered that I hadn't put in a bottle of Techron since that two month period, so I added a bottle to my latest tankful.
While I was standing in line buying it, the guy behind me says "Gas guage problem, huh?" He has a newer Mustang and it appears that they have a similar problem.
BAM!..when it hit 1/2 last week the guage dropped to empty again.
It's as if the Techron caused the problem.
I refilled the tank and the problem seems to go away...for now
I'm not so sure about Techron now. But I'm still going to use it....

I would think that if enough corrision was on the sending units that nothing short of replacement would fix it. I'm hoping that using either Techron or BG-44K before there is a problem, will prevent future replacements. Had mine replaced once and have been using 44k or Techron once a month (depending on milage) and so far so good.
