I think you've already made up your mind, good. He's your kid you know him. Personally it wouldn't bother me if there were a couple of extra miles on it. Check on him if you want but I wouldn't.

I'm going to do it. I won't check mileage, but if I feel particularly curious after I get back, I'll check the highest recorded speed via the Window Valet.
Don't do it! There are too many fools around airports. Too many reckless cabbys, half asleep wives/husbands dropping people off, and so on. You sound like the kind of dad anyone would want, but this is about the car and your son's safety. Let him drive it when you get back so you will be there if anything were to happen. It's not worth the chance you're taking do your think?

Well, the luggage fits, so I'm going to give him the option of driving the 'Vette. My son is conservative enough about my vehicles that he may very well turn down the offer.
I appreciate the concerns about airport traffic, etc. I hadn't really thought about that. But I don't think it's going to be an issue. I'm going to a smaller regional airport (NOT LAX!!!) and he'll be dropping me off at about 5 AM. Traffic should be relatively light just about everywhere at that hour, including the airport we're going to.
I'll let you know how it all turns out. Thanks again for all the opinions. Appreciate it.
