I'd believe that.

Height in general isn't as much the fitment issue as length of legs. I am 6'2" and fit well (even with a helmet) but if my legs were any longer, I would start getting a little cramped.

Viper's don't do a thing for me.
Also, they will never have the history and heritage of Corvette.
My Brother rented one for a day in 'Vegas.
He thought it sucked. He owns an '03 Z06.
I drove a Viper, the footbox was ridiculously small.
You can have those Viper's,
Crossed Flags anyday.

That's a great looking car. I was very interested in buying one so I drove one about a month ago.

On the positive side, lots of torque, race car feel to it, easy to shift, decent ride believe it or not, handled well and nice brakes, near celebrity status if attention is what you crave.

On the negative side, very high door sill, not the greatest sounding engine, very tough to get in and out, very poor visibility both side view and rear view, extremely cramped foot well to the point of claustrophobia, and generally I just couldn't get comfortable.

I was seriously thinking of buying one until I drove one. But still, everyone's take will be different. I just don't understand people trashing a car they have never driven. Drive one and find out for yourself.

I have to admit, I really like the Corvette over the Viper now that I have driven both. It cured me of wanting one.

The funnest thing to do is actually beat one. I did so the other day (ummm, on the track ) and he just kinda stayed behind me until he had to turn off. Awwwwww, did I hurt your feelings?

Personally, I love the car but about a month ago decided that I probably would not buy one because 9 out of 10 owners are pure schmucks. That is why it is so fun to beat them. I like hanging out with other car enthusiasts but my experience with that crowd has been nothing short of , so my plans to purchase in the next year or two have gone away.

Did I mention it is fun to beat them?

Eh well, I had a jackass in a C6(brand new w/ paper plates), trying to race me on a busy freeway Sat night. The new Viper hardtops are kind of nice. Still a piece of plastic crap interior-wise for a $100,000 car. I'll take my Z or my friend's 996TT over it any day for a fraction of the price

06 Z06 is much more car than a viper. IMO looks hell of alot more seccy. I test drove a 2001 viper, the interior was the features were sad. Give me a z06 with heads up display and all the goodies over a viper any day.

And really if your going to spend 90k on a new viper for looks ? You should be able to go up 30k more and get a ferrari which will turn alot more heads than a viper.

But whatever, its all about being happy in what you drive and vipers are awesome cars, i love seeing them cruise by. They are just way over priced.

As a former viper owner(00'gts) and a current vette owner..There is no different "gawk" factor between a ferrari and a viper...I got rid of my viper b/c I got TOO much attention. The viper definately had the torque and racecar feel that alot of muscle car lovers crave..however, the ergonamics of the interior really suck....long drives suck even worse.. Im happier with my vette, its overall, a better car. also people buy vipers not only for the looks, but for the exclusiveness(sp) of owning one...If i remember correctly, there were more vettes produced last year than there are vipers in all of existence since 91.

True dat!

I happen to think the GTS is one bad-butt looking ****... I'm not as keen on the new gen, but I've always wanted a red/silver stripe GTS

Nobody is spending 90K on a new Viper dude, they are easily going for 10k-15K OFF sticker and more than that some places. The verts are not selling and are one hell of a bargain right now if you want the fastest vert available. They are cheaper than a new Z06, despite what the sticker says. And oh yeah, they are seccy...

I paid 45K for my '98 GTS 2 1/2 years ago, and guess what? I could sell it tomorrow for 45K. Match that resale. Of course, it's the classic GTS design with the forged engine and lumpiest 708 cam. That was a good year.

One of the things about these Vipers is that everyone thinks these cars are way more $ than they are. I paid $45K for mine with under 9K miles and people are always shocked!

BTW- Mine is a '99 with the forged motor and lumpy cam - but also the revised wheels/interior...

Yeah they look cool, but why pay $80K for a car that can only travel well when going straight? Oh, and that person just paid $80K for a Dodge!

Vipers handle very well actually and someone could say the same thing to all the owners that payed over sticker for their Z06's.
