heys guys i have a c4 now, but i have the c5 bug if i sell my c4 would like 97/98 it would have to be high milage one as i am limited on funds. so ? is do c5 motors hold up well, lets say past 120,00 would only put around 35 00 miles a year on it any help is appr. geo
Your question simple cannot be answered straight up. SOOOO much depends on whether the car had the routine maintenance done, and got things fixed right away (with quality parts) when they did break.
Generally speaking, Corvettes frame and general mechanicals hold up quite well at the mileage you mention, but there simply are 120K miles cars I would not touch with a ten foot shifter and others that will run well past 200K.
When you do find the car you are considering (especially at the mileage you can afford) do pay the necessary amount to run it through a thorough diagnostics check at a reputable garage. It may cost you $75 to $150 but is going to protect you from the shiny body you fall in love with that is hiding an engine with 1/2 the compression gone..........
These cars seem to run strong even at high milage.
Just make sure the fluids are all clean in the engine, trans, and the rear. It should give you a good indication of how well the car was maintaned mechanicaly.

If the car is treated right and maintained well, it should have no problems lasting well beyond 100K miles. Many forum members here have cars that have surpassed that mileage and report minimal to no problems.
