Default GoodYear tire went the distance

I was driving back from Oklahoma on Saturday. (saw a lot of Vettes going to Mid America Cruise in) I stopped just east of St.Louis at a rest stop. It was then I noticed I had a left front flat. I am running stock Z06 wheels and tires. I don't know how long the tire was flat since I am not running my sensors. (planed to install at next tire change) I found the leak. It was inside next to the sidewall. I put a plug in it and aired it up. Checked it a hundred miles later and it was down to 16psi. I aired it up again, and stopped at every rest stop and had to keep putting air in it. Well it made it the 650 miles back home but of course the tire is trashed and will not hold air even with 16oz of slime in it. So my season is over since it's not in the budget to get tires. I want the PS2 and the total bill is going to be around 1,800 bucks. I am just glad the GoodYear tire went the distance for me. I can't beleive I didn't know it was flat while I was driving it.

You can get GoodYear GS-D3's which many rate a better tire in Z06 size for under $1K at tirerack

Also, glad you were able to make it back home on the tire.

You were lucky you spotted it. Good example of why it's nice to have TPS even without runflats - you can ruin the tire, wheel, or worse
Glad you got home safely.

I have those as well and I don't think you can find a better tire for the money.
