If you think the interior is up to the level of quality one would expect for a $50K car, you need to get out more.
Maybe he's saying that you are paying for a 50k sports car, not a 50k luxury car. You are paying for the physical performance, not the aethetic appearance.
But so is keeping your sandals by your heels, ever get anything caught behind your brake pedal?
I don't think it's even physically possible for my sandal to obstruct the brake pedal, we're not talking about a football or a large object, but a flimsy thin piece of foam.
Point taken though, regarding having **** kicking around on the floorboard. It satifies my commuting safety requirements though, when I drive in a spirited manner, I wear my driving shoes.
LOL, except driving barefoot is illegal in all states but Alabama, Ohio, and Cali.

It is not illegal to drive without shoes in any state.
Although you could be cited for careless or reckless driving along with what ever other infraction you were cited for. http://tafkac.org/legal/driving.bare..._barefoot.html

I don't mind the plastic pedal. I do drive bare foot at times. I take the shoes of and put them on the pax floor or behind my seat. Never keep anything on the drivers floor.

That is an interesting read. I would have to be inclined to believe that driving barefoot would not lead to any formal litigation processes being initiated.

The pedal makes no difference to me since I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my C5. It's beyond me why anyone would mind-furk something as trivial as what the pedal is made of, rather than just replacing it with something better suited to the individual and moving on.
