I have a 2004 coupe with 12,300 miles on it. I put the windows down every time I drive it, to keep them working, I thought. Tonight I start it up press the window buttons, and the passenger window clicks. I had the same problem with the passenger window on my 99 coupe, but after it was three years old.
Howm many here, have had problems with the power windows on their C5's?
I've had both of mine replaced. The rt side door was done last fall and the left side was done two weeks ago. Mine failed up which was a good thing. No warning they work and then just stop. I have 16k on mine. I've been told that these are a really cheap design that GM has gone with.....
I fixed mine about a year ago. It was a faulty relay in the door module. Do a search and you may find the instructions and even the relay part number. It took me about an hour to take the door apart and replace the relay and put it all back together. I already knew how the door came apart from when I upgraded my stereo system so that didn't slow me down. Good luck....
My passenger window sticks once in a while on my 2000. I slam the door hard a couple of times and usually gets it going again. It's been a while since it has happened. I try to open the windows everytime I drive the car, but I know that I will have to fix this problem eventually.
I have a 2003 vette with 16,000 miles, and the passenger side window switch sometimes doesn't work. I play with it for a couple of minutes and it works. I've taken it to the dealer, and they say nothing is wrong. I have to wait for it to happen again, and take it in.
2000 Coupe with same problem. The slam door fix worked once. Had to take off the door panel and tap on the motor to fix last time. Not working again, so replacing the motor seems like my only option.
My '97 had it. When I bought the car (used, 27,000 miles) the passenger window did not work. It was the regulator and it was replaced a week or two after I got it home. I was in a hurry and it was going to take time for the part to come in. Drivers side remained fine until I traded the car in this past May thru 62,000 miles.
I guess its typical GM. Pick up my '04 recently and it already had the passenger side replaced under waranty. On the Camaro Forum you will see that most owners had replaced their window motors. In fact, on my '90 Firebird I did both also. Now it looks like headlight motors and window motors are on the 'for sure' list.
