Watch out for lightning
I was watching the Science Channel tonight and the subject was lightning. They said you would be protected in a car if it is made of metal but would not be in a fiberglass car. So if you are caught in a storm, drive real fast and keep your head down.

I'd be more concerned about 7' members driving Verts. Never a good thing to be on high ground or in the open no matter what you're driving.
