Tire Pressure Low Warning
I noticed Sunday when I went for a drive that my tire pressures were a hair lower than 30 cold on the DIC. So, before I drove it the next time I got out the gauge to get check and adjust the pressures. The first tire I checked, the RR, showed 19 psi! Checked the DIC, and sure enuff, had a low pressure warning. Didn't notice anything on the DIC or HUD when I drove it last Sunday. All the other tires checked out fine with the gauge.
Brought the low one up to 30, then checked it the following night, and it was low again. Took the wheel off and found a small screw in the tread. Either I missed the warning message, which I can't believe I would have, especially if it was on the HUD also, or the tire leaked down after I parked it.
Am I good or what? If you have to get a flat, I guess there's no better place than in your garage, ha, ha.

I know some things trigger a "check gauges" message that pops up on the HUD and I wondered if the low tire pressure did as well.
I keep my DIC set so the tire pressure is on display all the time, and scroll from front to rear periodically. When I discovered the tire pressure was low when I manually checked it with a pressure gauge at the tire, I turned the car on to see why I hadn't gotten a warning on the DIC. When I did, it was showing the "low pressure warning" and when I tried to scroll thru the DIC displays to see what the actual pressure was, it wouldn't scroll, but just stayed on the low pressure warning. So, I think if the pressure goes down in a tire, the DIC warning comes on whether you have the DIC on or off, and regardless of what the display is set on.
The reason I was asking is I was trying to figure out if I missed the warning while driving, or if the tire leaked down after I parked it. I thought I might have overlooked one warning on the DIC, but it would be less probable that I could have missed it if it occurred in two places, the DIC and the HUD.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
The next morning was very cool and I had the low pressure warning in teh DIC and the HUD has the 'Check Gauges' message displayed. So the HUD does indicate that you need to check your gauges.
I find it interesting how much the pressure changes from cold to hot. Mine seem to vary as much as 5 pounds.
You have to press reset to clear the message, then you can scroll through the gages to display tire pressures on the dic. I think anytime a message is display on the dic, Check gages will appear on the HUD.

What is more accurate, the tire gauge or the DIC? I would think the tire guage. It's a good dial type gauge.
Mine get as much as 6 psi higher per the DIC on hot summer days.

Try another gauge and see what the pressure reads. Tire pressure will rise when hot.

Any DIC warning brings up the check gages caption.
