My remote just stopped working on my 2000 coupe. I replaced the battery and it worked a few times then it stopped working. I thought maybe the battery I bought was bad so I tried another one. Same thing....it worked a few times the first day then quit working.

Any ideas???

Next thing to try would be a re-learn. From the manual:

Matching Transmitter(s) to Your Vehicle
Each remote keyless entry transmitter is coded to
prevent another transmitter from unlocking your vehicle.
Each vehicle can have a maximum of three
transmitters matched to it.
To match transmitters to your vehicle:
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Clear any warning messages on the Driver
Information Center (DIC) by pressing the
RESET button.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the DIC several
times until the blank page is displayed, then press
and hold the RESET button for two seconds.
4. When the message FOB TRAINING is displayed,
press the RESET button once. The message HOLD
LK + UNLK 1ST FOB in the DIC will be displayed.
5. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the
first transmitter simultaneously for five seconds.
6. When a transmitter is learned (matched), the DIC
will display FOB LEARNED and then prompt you
to learn the second transmitter.
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the third transmitter.
8. Remove the key from the ignition.
The programming mode will shut off if any of following
has occurred:

You don’t program any transmitters for two minutes.

You take the key out of the ignition.

You have programmed three transmitters.

 

Not to jump the tread here but is there anyone that has parts for the 2000 FOBs? Found that my battery clips wasnt making contact on mine. When I tried to bend them a little they broke.

 

usually when you have to keep re-learning the FOB , and for it to work briefly , it means the FOB is bad . replace the FOB and your problems will be solved .common problem with the 97-99 with passive , and the 2000 . good luck

 

The FOB on my '00 did the same thing - ended up getting a new FOB and all is well.

 

Does anyone have the GM part number for a 2000 keyless remote?
