I am thinking of selling my vette but wondering if I should hold out and wait for spring. Is the decreased demand during the late fall/winter really going to affect the price that much?
I've got a 98 silver coupe A4 with 74k on the clock. Great condition with a few basic mods (Vararam B2, mufflers + tips, Y2K wheels w/ GS-D3's, and interior trim). How much do these cars usually go for?
By the way guys, I'm not leaving the Corvette community so don't flame me. In all honestly I just want a different car (really need a 6-speed and would like to see a different color)
I paid fifteen grand last month for our '98 C5 A4 Coupe...with less than half the mileage 'on the clock' than yours has. Like yours, ours is also in excellent visual/mechanical condition and came fully-optioned...sans 'SRTD'.

In your area, you will probably get a better price in the Spring, but how much difference is hard to tell. Each market is a little different. You can always try and sell it for what you want out of it now and if no one offers you a good price, wait until spring.

$15k with only ~35k miles?! WTF?! That's great for you! Bad for other Corvette owners!!!!
No wonder seeing more and more kids driving the C5 these days. It's cheaper than buying a civic!

Wow, did it have a title and was it from New Orleans ....Seriously, I would buy 10 like that if I could find them. Was it in the newpaper or a wholesale auction?Whats the catch ?
Great deal for you! I have a 98 Triple Black Vert and would not take less than 23K for it. I would let my 17 yo daughter drive it as a daily driver before I sold it cheap.
I got $19K out of the insurance company for my totaled 98 MN6 last December/January. The $19K did include TTT. Car had 87K on the odometer. I am sure the prices have droped a little since then.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily purchase ten of them...no place to put that many ( ), but I sure did get a great deal. It's an original local 'California car' which once belonged to the former president of the local Corvette club, who just wanted to sell it after his wife passed away. He bought a new C6, so I guess this car just had too many memories for him.
I'm sure that I could get at least several thousand more than what I paid for it, but my wife wouldn't appreciate it, as it's now her daily driver. After acquiring the C5, she now has two cars that she really enjoys driving more than the others we also have. BTW, I let my 17 year-old son drive it Sunday before last (with me driving 'shotgun'), and the smile never left his face. I'm sure it was a big disappointment driving his own two vehicles the next day.

You have nothing to lose with this approach. And that guy who bought at 15k got a steal!

Thanks for the input. I have let my girls drive my Vette several times by their selves, after they demonstrated proficency in controling the beast. They take after their Mom and are much more responsible than Dad
