Is This Right ???
I have called the shop today and at least once a week prior and asked if they knew when my car would be ready. For 4 weeks in a row now going on 5, all they keep saying is that they dont know when the car will be ready. The engine is at the machine shop getting rebuilt, but it has been there for 2 going on 3 weeks. I only have a stock c5 engine, so it should not be that hard to fix right?
Am I being unreasonable in thinking that they are taking too long to fix my vehicle?
How come they don't know when it will be ready? Should complain to them or somehing?
This is too long to be without my vette. Especially when I have been stuck driving a COROLLA for the past 4 weeks.
I need advice...

It should not take that long to rebuild an engine....However, it does typically take a couple of months in my experience -
One friend had his engine re-worked (new cam, cam bearings, rings etc) and it took two months to get it back.
When I had my 390 done in my 68 Torino, the fellow had the engine for 6 weeks.
As long as they are doing the work correctly and are just taking their time to do it right, it's ok in my opinion.
If they are just shuffling your block around and not making progress on it, then it could be a large problem.

Obviously, this outfit is not geared to fast turnaround time. Just relax, put a smile on your face, pay the bill when the car is done and mark them off you vendor list for future work. See, this is how you get to be my age (61) without uncers.
