I probally am not the smartest guy on this, but don't all keys have the resistor in them? And I belive there are like 15 different ones. I personally would just to go the dealership with your VIN, I know they can "CUT" your key by vin, but I am not sure if the vin would also say which resistor is in it, call and ask.

A dealer should be able to help you out. Just be prepared to positively prove that the car is yours. Otherwise they may not be willing to cut the key.

Default key

After you spend huge bucks on a single key from the dealer go to someone like locksmithsource on ebay and purchase another key with the right resistance code and spend about $2 to have it cut by a local locksmith. I did the second part made a spare before I lost the original.

And even then they might not help. Getting real pricky lately as they should be.

Ah, NO, not without knowing the specif resistor code........ unless all you want to do is unlock your door. Call another dealership, It wasn't even $20 for mine that I got last week.

Just ask them for the code, and have a locksmith do it. Cheaper, and a better cut. Thats if they will just give you the code.
