Title Question
Hey ppl, a quick question for all you Americans What is the difference if any between a "Salvage Title" and a "Flood Title"? Can there be one without the other? Thanks guys/gals.

Those designations apply ONLY if the insurance company "purchases" the car. In other words, there is a title change. In many states, you can purchase the car after settlement. If you do so, you will still have a "clean" title.
I did this twice with an '86 Mazda pickup. It was hit two times and both times it was "totalled" by insurance, and I bought it back from the insurance company. Once for $350, and the last time for $200. The last time, they paid $1200 on the value, I bought it for $200, took it to the local technical school for them to rebuild (free labor). I found most of the parts in a salvage yard for $300, and bought the paint and a few new pieces for $150. Deduct the $650 from the $1200 = $550 ahead, and I kept the title. Drove it for three years and sold it for $995.
