Default life expectancy?

I'm looking to get a corvette for example a 2000 coupe m6 and say it has 60,000mi on it would the mileage be considered good or bad and how long do corvettes usually tend to run for?

A 2000 with 60,000 miles would average around 9,000 per year. That doesn't seem to bad to me. The miles shouldn't be the critical issue.

1 - Secure the VIN and check with a chevy dealership for maintenance records (Or secure from seller). I'd want to make certain the maintenance was well done.
2 - Check the overall condition. Any leaks in the front or rear? Any noise in the rear-end? If not, should be okay.

It really seems like the LS1 runs forever if well maintained. I've read lots of stories on here about vettes with 150,000 miles or more. These cars were made to be driven. For a fair price, I wouldn't have any problems buying a vette with 60,000 miles.

9K/miles per year average. The national average is around 12-13K/year I believe.

NADA gives it a mileage add which means the current mileage is below what "should" be on a '00.

Hope that helps.

The LS1 motors are very well built.. The rest of the car will fall apart before the engine goes.

That's not bad mileage for a '00 - the person drove the car, but not excessively IMO. The C5 is a pretty reliable car, so you should be able to get a lot more miles out of the car. A number of forum members have well over 100K miles on theirs.

Gotta raise the flag on this one
Not sure if you are saying the rest of the car is junk. But to be on the safe side, the C5 is very well constructed. Mine is as solid as the day I bought it.

Compared to the mazda and VW in my famiy, this car has held up very well. PLUS there is a vey good support group on the CF if you should have a problem. I have 60,000 miles on mine. Some of them have been, what would be considered on another car, Abusive.
