At the ripe old age of 47 I just acquired my first Corvette. What fun!
When I was 16, my best friend was good enough to let me borrow his frequently ('63 split window automatic, which he was restoring. Looked like heck, but who cared?) I got my first speeding ticket in that car, exactly 2 weeks after getting my license. In the words of the officer: "Son, this is no way to start your driving career..."
Anyway, now I have one of my own. I bought it with 125K on the clock, which made me pretty nervous. But after having it for a month, everything checks out fine and I'm good to go, I think.
What on earth took me so long?!!

"ripe old age of 47", sorry, your a youngster here. The best is yet to come. A well cared for & non-abused Vette should get you to at least 200K miles. When your ready, you can have a Z06 GM long block and a "Rodney" A4 trans rebuild dropped in and the your fun gets doubled. If your near A&A , talk to them for options.

Welcome! In answer to your question - "Why did I wait so long?" Many of us here had the same issues....mine was other priorities. But you might get a kick out my license plate....
i finally got mine at the ripe young age of.....54........it was a long wait but well worth the wait .....and now myself and my better half enjoy crusing and we do enjoy the looks young and old give the car......WHAT FUN.....
