Question for all you corvette experts. I have a 99 Black Convertible with auto trannie. I have experienced this 3 times now, after the car has not been run for approx a week, when I start it sometines the monitor flashes a message saying "Pull Key, wait 10 Seconds" When I do this the car starts and no more message.
Is this something to be concerned about? Car run's perfectly after that. Once I just restarted without pulling the key and when I tried to back out of the garage the engine would die, did this several times before I pulled the key. Any idea's or help would be appreciate. Banker1
The infamous column lock.......do a search function , there are many threads. Get a column lock bypass from Corvettes of Houston and problem is solved...6 spd. or auto?
I would agree 99.9% of the time, but the fact it sits, you might want to check/replace your battery. My guess is that why your column doesn't lock on you after getting the message, is because your battery is not holding its charge. Certainly less of a PITA to check and fix.
