Ash Tray?

I just bought a 2001. Just below the air cond controls is a door that flips open with a lighter under it. Also there is an opening next to the lighter which I assume is where the ash tray would be. I can't find anything on this in the owners manual and don't know anyone with a car that I can ask. I do not smoke but would like to replace whatever fits in this hole. I know this is a simple question but would like to know the answer before I try to buy whatever fits in the opening.

It's the removeable ashtray. You might try GENE'S KARSHOP, a forum supporting vendor, for a replacement.
I placed my garage door remote in that location, perfect fit.

There are previous threads where owners put garage door openers or some sort of radar detector there. Do a search here and in C5 Tech.

It has an opening on the left side into the dash area and I want to be sure nothing falls thru that hole so I will get the ash tray. Not sure what I willl put in it maybe my cell phone. Thanks for your replies.

Just so you won't be surprised, the ash tray lid is spring loaded open, so every time you open that lid covering the area, your ash tray lid will pop open too. FYI
