I am a newbie, but is it hard to get at the turn signal bulb in an 02 vette? The blinker is out and I was wondering because i need to change it on the passenger side. I looked under the hood and it looks impossible, any help or how to's would be great.
If you have skinny wrist's try pushing the brake vent back and to the side and try to stick your arm up in there to reach bulb. Good luck it's a mother...
Pop the hood and raise the headlights. There is a bolt with a rubber stopper at the front radiater area. Take it off and it will make it easier to slide your hand down there. Expect to lose a little skin but it can be done. Yes, it's a pain in the azz!!! Changed one 2 weeks ago.

Go in through the brake ducts - not easy with a Z06 or if you have screens
Go in through the bottom by taking out the bottom panel
The one that works for me is:
Turn on the headlights and back off one position to kill the lights.
Unscrew the 3 small screws on the black plastic housing around the headlight. Gently pull the housing clear. Reach down around the headlight unit and release the bulb holder. It unscrews counter clockwise but it has a plastic clip which you need to squeeze to release it. Change the bulb. Reseat the bulb holder and turn until it clicks back in place. Put the plastic housing back in place making sure to locate the small plastic tab in the bracket on the headlamp cover. Replace the 3 screws and close the lights.

10 minute job.
The bulb is a 4157NA
Suggests 1 and 3 only work if you have [arnolds voice]Girlie arms[/arnolds voice]

It's only 5 small bolts that come right off and you have plenty of room to get in there and get the plug out. Sometimes the plug can be 'weathered' in place, and going through the headlamp housing, it can be hard to get a good grip and see what you're doing. Just get a set of Rhinos at Wally World (the gray ones), drive it up, remove the panel, and change it. Ten minutes and you're done. Zuti
I found that using the 3rd method described in "DeeGee's" post, but with the added step of removing the bolt with the rubber stopper as suggested in "possessed's" post works for those of us with thicker arms.
I just put in blackouts and pulling the whole light fixture was a b$tch but once I did it, no problem putting it back. Not sure of the other suggestions but I may try one of them the next time I have to get in there.

There are only 6 or 8 small screws to take out to remove the lower panel (between the air dam and the wheel well), and you will have plenty of room. I just removed the whole lens assembly through the lower panel opening, so it is no problem to get to the bulbs.
I just replaced mine on the left front by removing the hood support bolt with the rubber cap method. By far the easiest and fastest way to go. I was wondering about something though, while my arm was down in the hole-what would happen if the headlight decided to close on your arm? How powerful is that motor? Could be painful, huh?
