Welcome to the forum. The Search function is your friend. If you do a search on Vararam (leave off the "velocity stack" part) you should find quite a few posts. You can also search on "CAI", "Honker" or "Blackwing". This is one of the highest traffic subjects for discussion.
When you look at the diameter of the "initial" opening of the throttle body and the diameter of the opening at the intake manifold, you will obviously see the diameter of the two openings are not the same.
Also, above the "intake manifold" opening, there is a flat, vertical surface with two openings. The flat, vertical surface and the two opening will cause turbulence in the throttle body.
The Velocity Stack will eliminate the turbulence since each end will match the throttle body openings...without a flat, vertical surface. A smooth flow will improve the air flow.
The only bad part is the price...but then again...everything sold to 'Vette owners (and other car owners) have prices too high!!!
