I have and wouldn't know the difference

Sensors are fine

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport AS ZP at 30 psi hot.

I run 78% Nitrogen in mine and around 21% oxygen. Sensors still seem fine.

I've heard helium will make your car lighter and therefore faster.

Yep, I have a device that extracts it from the atmosphere, pressurizes it and allows me to force it into my tires.

A big thanks too the peanut gallery for thier insightfull comments!!!

IT's supposed to give you slightly better gas mileage. And I mean slightly. OTher than that, I'm pretty sure there isn't a difference. I personally don't think it's worth the money.

I never heard of the "Better Mileage Claim"?
If this becomes popular imagine how many dollar bills you'll have to put in those tire filling machines at Gas Stations!

Sorry where exactly do you buy pressurized pure nitrogen gas for car tires?? I don't know of any garages, gas stations that offer pure nitrogen gas. I know if someone does have it, it's not going to be free.

Even if you put pressurized pure nitrogen in your tires, you've still got the air that was in them to begin with. You'd have to purge that air ... perhaps put the entire thing in a vacuum chamber, evacuate the air from the tire, and then put in pure nitrogen.

Sams club tire centers is doing the nitrogen thing at select stores. They purge all the tires and then fill them up with compressed nitrogen. It's like $5 per tire. They don't create a complete vacuum in the tire, so there is still a little oxygen left in them.

It's supposed to give you better mileage, but less than 5% increase if I remember correctly.

How the hell can you guys believe the better gas mileage claim.
Holy crap!
(automatics and cup holders..)

Listen, the advantage to nitrogen is that it stays at pretty much the same pressure in a wide temperature range.

It is important in aviation tires and air filled suspension components that are exposed to a wide swing in temperatures.

Better gas mileage, Jesus H.........

Yeah. Cold tires = less AIR pressure, = worse gas mileage, to the tune of about 1.5% Like I said, not noticeable at best.

And, even it you did get better gas mileage, how much gas would you burn driving around trying to find a place to do it? And then calculate the extra cost of having it done and add that to the price of gas. Divide that by how much you saved, and decide if it's worth your time. Or maybe multiply, I can't figure it out. And as an added benefit, if I ever end up under water in the car, I can breathe the 78/21 mixture till help arrives.
